The Archdiocese of Agios, more commonly referred to as Agios, is an [[Serrian Foreign Dependencies|overseas Archdiocese]] located on the island of Agios in Icaria. Agios is well known for its very high standards of living and unique hybrid Serrian-Icarian culture that it shares with [[Paros|Paros]] and attracts millions of tourists a year from all over the world. Unlike [[Serria|Metropolitan Serria]] Agios' older sections are in the Ithakan style and there are several ancient Icarian temples that are now used as [[Catholic|Catholic]] churches. Unique among Serrian Archioceses, Agios jointly funds its own branch of the Serrian Armed Forces with the city of [[Altena|Altena]] known as the Agios Militia which has been deployed around the world in support of humanitarian operations. Agios has long been the centre of Serrian finance in the [[Mauralian Gulf|Mauralin Gulf]] region and since the 70s has outsourced most of its production to [[Altena|Altena]] and [[Paros|Paros]] which are both larger than Agios and have lower living costs and minimum wages.
Agios has a special relationship with the [[Sovereign Military Order of Serria|Serrian Order]] city of [[Altena|Altena]] where they jointly fund public infrastructure projects such as the South Island Nuclear Power Station, public transportation network and the Agios Militia which operates out of both cities. Agios is connected to the mainland by two road/rail bridges, one road tunnel and two subway tunnels and the south island is connected to the main island by one road/rail bridge. Despite the prevalence of high tech infrastructure in Agios such as the all electric bus system, the rail network is equipped to handle regular steam train traffic thanks to the [[Federal Republic of Icaria|Federal Republic of Icarias]] widespread use of older steam trains.
