The Demitorian Defense Forces are the military arm of the Government of [[Demitor]].

This component is made up of civil aircraft and aircraft disassembled in storage that are made available to the air force for use in situations where normal transport aircraft  capacities of the Air Force are exceeded.

This component is made up of civil aircraft and aircraft disassembled in storage that are made available to the air force for use in situations where normal transport aircraft  capacities of the Air Force are exceeded. Pilots for these aircraft are drawn from the pilots working for [[Demitorian National Airlines]] or [[Air Demitor]]. These pilots are trained under the [[Demitorian Air Force Pilots Reserve Training Program]], and train on mothballed aircraft every so often in order to keep both their skills and the aircraft airworthy. The NAR also maintains a group of mechanics on call for maintaining the aircraft in storage. Types in storage include P-55 (Mustang III) and T-2 (Basler BT-67), and T-1 (Douglas DC-3)'s.

The plans for this program were drawn up during the height of the Svernan Cold War, whereas potential conflict could see destabilization, and this force was intended to prevent a flood of refugees into Demitor and stabilize the regions on the border. Generally made up of deactivated units, their manpower and equipment is drawn from the Army Reserve, but when activated they fall under the control of the main army command system.

They generally do not have any real influence on a military conflict, resorting to being internal and rear-guard forces in active conflicts. They have nondescript military vehicles, and rely on the air force for aerial surveillance and the Coast Guard for law enforcement and searches on the high seas. The service has an authorized strength of sixty five thousand armed personnel, with most of the deployments along the border with Kolonia.
