Iconian Army
The Iconian army (IA) has been established during the unification of Aquilian Empire from the armed forces of Aquilia, Thessolakia, Lucia and Viridia. The Iconian army has been shifted aside through the history. The army significance has been determined by both the government and the armed forces command as unmeaningful because of a strategy counting on navy being first line of defence.

History
The Iconian army predecessors have undergone the first major change around 1500MT when the first good breed of horses able to carry humans arrived from oversea territories in Serthenia. The following adaptation of them on battle tactics and manoeuvring has caused a dramatic change initially. The second power shift has been many centuries later during which the armies started adapting the gunpowder firearms supplied by Edusan and Serrian friends. Although the army’s equipment has been upgraded with time, it was always given the smallest budget of all armed branches par the coast guard. This came as a shock during the second invasion of Iconia when the enemy force managed to penetrate the naval and air forces and land on the shores. The underequipped Iconian army stood a low chance against the superior firepower, however with the invasion force small size and emergency conscription, the numbers prevailed and the invasion was pushed back to its beachhead and finally destroyed.
During the 18th century, the army was reformed and standardized into a Dolfik-like regimental system with Dolfik advisors spearheading the reforms. The new army core was formed from these regiments and their colours: - 3rd Foot Regiment - Grassy Green - 4th Foot Regiment - Dark Red - 16th Rifle Regiment - Yellow - 21st Grenadier Regiment - Gold - 22nd Foot Regiment - Black - 23rd Imperial Household Guard Regiment - Royal Purpure - 25th Foot Regiment - Orange - 32nd Marine Regiment - Azure - 33rd Marine Regiment - Light Azure - 38th Foot Regiment - Light Blue - 40th Foot Regiment - Grey The army of the time utilised white uniforms with collars and accessories bearing the regimental colours per the colonial standard. Most of these regiments stopped existing or transformed into a different types of arms. The 23rd, 32nd and 33rd Regiments stayed to this day.
In the following years, the army has gained a more significant focus and its doctrine and organisation has been completely restructured into a more mobile force able to respond to any invasion anywhere on the Aquilian island or the oversea territories with amphibious operations capability.
