The Nuntic Union (NU) is a political and economic union of 13 member states that are located primarily in or around the Nuntic Sea. The union has an estimated total population of about 447 million. An internal single market has been established through a standardized system of laws that apply in all member states in those matters, and only those matters, where the states have agreed to act as one. NU policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services and capital within the internal market; enact legislation in justice and home affairs; and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional development. Passport controls have been abolished for travel within the Vrije Area. The lirezone is a monetary union established in 1999, coming into full force in 2002, that is composed of the 9 NU member states (and multiple nonmembers) that use the Serrian lire currency. The NU has often been described with the characteristics of either a federation or confederation.

The union and NU citizenship were established when the Andersen Treaty came into force in 1993. The NU traces its origins to the Nuntic Resource Interest Council (NRIC) and the Nuntic Economic Community (NEC), established by the 1951 Treaty of Vellina. The original member states of what came to be known as the Crusader Republics were the initial signatories: Serria, the Serrian Order, Estia, Vrijerland and Baydor. The communities and their successors have grown in size by the accession of 8 new member states and in power by the addition of policy areas to their remit. There are several other countries that are negotiating to join the Nuntic Union.

Containing some X percent of the world population in 2022, the NU had generated a nominal gross domestic product of around SAL LXX.X trillion in 2021 with all NU countries maintaining a very high Human Development Index. Through the Nuntic Collective Security Umbrella, the majority of the union is integrated into the Serrian nuclear triad. It maintains permanent diplomatic missions throughout the world and represents itself at the International Assembly, the International Trade Sphere, and the C8. Due to its global influence, the Nuntic Union has been described by some scholars as an emerging superpower.
