The Serrian Defense Force (Serrian: Forze difese serranie) encompass the Serrian Army, the Serrian Navy, the Serrian Air Force, the Serrian Space Force, and the Serrian Cyber Force and serve as the military arm of nation of Serria. A sixth branch of the armed forces, known as the Carabinieri, take on the role as the nation's military police and are also involved in missions and operations abroad as a combat force. Despite not being a branch of the armed forces, the Guardia di Finanza is part of the military and operates a large fleet of ships, aircraft and helicopters, enabling it to patrol Serria's waters and to eventually participate in warfare scenarios. These five forces have military status and are all organized along military lines, comprising a total of 341,250 men and women with the official status of active military personnel, of which 165,500 are in the Army, Navy and Air Force. The Minister-President of the Kingdom of Serria heads the armed forces as the President of the High Council of Defence established by article 87 of the Serrian constitution. According to article 78, the Congress has the authority to declare a state of war and vest the necessary powers in the Serrian government.

The six branches of Serrian Defense Forces
Esercito Serriano
The ground force of Serria, the Regio Esercito dates back to the reunification of Serria and its exiled government early 18th century. It fought in colonial engagements in Serthenia during the Cresadan Rebellion, against the revolutionaries in Malabar, on the Icarian peninsula against the Icarian empire in the late 19th century, and in the Great War in Yinshan, Icaria, Sverna and the Nuntic theatre. During the Cold War the Army prepared itself to defend against an Anderian invasion as well as a souring of relations with the West. Since the 21st century, it has seen extensive peacekeeping operations in various former colonies and Serrian dependencies.
Marina Militare
The navy of Serria was created in 1598, following the proclamation of the first Grand Voyage, as the Regia Marina. The new navy's baptism of fire came during the Mlorbik colonization of Metropolitan Serria against the Mlorbik Empire. It was the largest, and often only organized branch of the armed forces during the exiled period, and maintained order throughout the Serrian colonial holdings in the Meridan. During the Great War, it spent its major efforts in the Nuntic Sea, fighting the Yinshanese Navy in a decade-long struggle for the control of the sea. After the war, the new Marina Militare, has taken part in many coalition humanitarian operations. It is a blue-water navy. The Guardia Costiera (Coast Guard) is a component of the navy.
Aeronautica Militare
The air force of Serria was founded as an independent service arm on 18 September 1900, at the urging of Adriano Salvatore Verrani as the Regia Aeronautica (which equates to "Royal Air Force"). During the 1920s, it was involved in its first military operations in the Great War alongside the Allies. After the armistice of 1934, the Serrian air force refocused and adopted the national post-war strategy of aggressive neutrality. In 1960, following the reorganization of the Serrian armed forces, the air force was given its current name Aeronautica Militare.
Carabinieri
The Arma dei Carabinieri is the gendarmerie and military police of Serria. The corps was instituted in 1814 by Minister-President Locco with the aim of providing a police corps. The new force was divided into divisions on the scale of one division for each Serrian province. The divisions were further divided into companies and subdivided into lieutenancies, which commanded and coordinated the local police stations and were distributed throughout the national territory in direct contact with the public. The Cresadan Rebellion saw the number of divisions increased, and in 1861 the Carabinieri were appointed the "First Force" of the new national military organization. In recent years Carabinieri became the fourth branch of Serrian Armed Forces. Primarily they carry out law enforcement, military policing duties and peacekeeping mission abroad, such as in Edusa protecting nomatic peoples, and Nari.
