Baydor

Baydor official called the Kingdom of Baydor is a nation located in the lorbic region western Andolia. It borders Aprezye in the Southeast, The Dolfik Kingsrike and the Dolfik Sea to the North and Northeast, and West Baydor to the Southwest. Baydor is made up of 16 dutches and covers a land area of 120,700sq miles. Most of the nation is situated on the North Lorbic Plain, with a primarily temperate climate. Major cities include Portstone, Kasculava, Donzig, Kanggrad, Kowlingrod, and Gradborg. The nations nation language is Baydorian what orginates from the original lorbic languages.

The territory of modern day Baydor came after the dissolution of the Grand Dutchy of Baydor following the Dolfik surrender in the Great war in 1927. The first civilisation to move to the area of Baydor where the original proto lorbic tribes but in the following millennia migration from Dolfik and Anderian tribes evoled to create the lorbic modern Baydorian's. Baydor converted to Christianity around the year 1000*.

Etymology

The word Baydor gots its roots in the name Byadonic first used by Dolfik travels in the region to asociate with the tribes and dutches who would be willing it interact's with them while the more isolationist tribes lorbic tribes kept the name they called them self. The name over time would change to Byadoric probaly due to it being easier to say in Lorbic and eventally in become Baydor with the first used of Baydor being in 412ad.

History

Settlers arrived in modern day Baydor as early as 30000 B.C., but the modern population originates from Dolfik migration to the South.

In the 1800 The lorbic region was made up of a dozen independent nations. Due to north Lorbic plane being the only why Dolfik and Anderian army's could engage each other, both empires tied to increases there influence in the region to swing the balance of power in the continent in their favour.

By the early 1900's, Baydor was unified as the Grand Duchy of Baydor, a constituent of the Dolfik crown. Rule by a foreign power led to notable partisan influence, in the form of the BLA (Baydor Liberation Army), as well as the socialist-leaning LRA (Lorbic Republican Army). Baydor played a significant strategic role in the Great War, used by Dolfikland to launch its invasion of Anderia in 1918. As the war became more of a stalemate and support for the war was began to fade the BLA and LRA began to increase in popularity. The LRA was most popular in the West Baydor where as the BLA where more popular in the north due to there support of prince Leopold. In 1926 the allies launched one of the largest amphibious assault's in history with the invasion of west Baydor. The Allies had coordinated there attack with the LRA who had sabotaged local defences before the landing's. The Baydorian and Dolfik army tried to contain the beach head but they soon Brooke out and had liberated West Baydor. This was a disaster and had dashed any hope for Dolfikland's victory in the war, it was during this last year of the war where some of the largest battles of the war took place as tanks maneuvered across the north lorbic low lands. In late 1927 the union of Baydor was formed but due to members of the norther aristocracy disliking the egalitarian views from the west as well as disagreements between the BLA and LRA, the union failed and split up into the Republic of West Baydor and the Commonwealth of Baydor by 1928. The commonwealth in theory was a democracy but most the power was in the hands of the Noble houses. This new nation was very unstable due to issues between the ethnically lorbic nobles and ethnically Dolfik onces, as well as this radical socialist who use to be members in the LRA where preparing for a socialist revolt. 1930 the revolt happened and after 3 months of bloody fighting the socialist republic of Baydor was formed. However this republic was ultimately doomed due to defeats at the hand of Dolfikland in border disputes as well as a growing famine. Prince Leopold 2nd who was critical of the socialist manged to unite the Baydorian and the Dolfik nobles to help defeat a common enemy, further more Leopold was already popular with members of the BLA and the peasants. In June 1932 a series of riots in the major cities began and the BLA lead by Leopold began it's counter revolution and eventually they stormed the capital building in Portstone, this lead to the communist forces declaring the end of the Socialist Peoples Republic of Baydor. After the end of the communist regime the 2nd Commonwealth of Baydor was set up with Prince Leopold being elected prime minister. Communist Anderia who supported the communist regiem in Baydor decladed war due to the collapse of the socialist republic, however the Anderians where defeated in the famous battle of Kasculava. Eventually after a successful referendum to restore the monarchy Prime Minister Prince Leopold became King Leopold 2nd. King Leopold would remain Prime minister till he died in 1956. Leopold's rein is seen as time of peace and independence form Dolfikland, because of this people in Baydor today often glories this period by calling it a golden era. Despite this reputation the nation in this period of time was still recovering from the war and poverty was still a big issue. Massive instability Followed the death of King Leopold 2nd as ethnic tensions what Leopold had relived had sparked up again with in the nobility. While this was happening, the Dolfikland economic miracle was in full swing, because Baydors despite economic situation as well as members in the goverment wanting to use Dolfikland to increases there influence, Baydor ended up joining the Meanwealth ( a Dolfik controlled economic block). Baydor joining the Mean wealth in the 60's was seen by some people as a return of Dolfikland's imperialism and because of this the LRA and BLA returned and began to take part in terrorist activities. The LRA soon became more influential than the BLA due to working with anti-Dolfik terror groups in Suroig as well as getting support from communist Anderia who wanted to explort the revolution. The BLA and the LRA worked to gather but as of the late 70's and 80's they became enemies and they would some times work with the goverment and Dolfikland to fight one another. In the 90's the national league formed as a mostly far right group who would fight members of the LRA, due to believing that the BLA was not doing enough to counter communism most members of the BLA joined the league. This all accumulated in the 2006 battle of Dansberg when communist LRA members declared a socialist republic, in response the league took up arms and battled the communist, whilst this happened the government gave weapons to the league. After the battle anti-Dolfik violence began to die down and a period of relative peace began. In 2009 senior members of the league decided to run in politics' as so created there own political party, the Nationalist Workers party (the NWP). The NWP still had ties with the league and as a result members of the league would attack anti NWP politicians. In 2021 the NWP candidate Jacob Hutman became prime minister.

Baydors geography is defined by the Cean Dragon mountain range what splits up the moist coastal areas and the dry inland areas. The average image of Baydor's country side is of a flat field, lightly rolling hills and forest's. 2.87% of Baydors territory is water, most of it from the Teutomus river what starts near the boarder with west Baydor and goes down into the bay of Teutomus.

The north western the coast with the Dolfik sea spans from Dorndask bay's to the nordania coast and is covered with beaches as well as Bays and natural harbours. While the more western coast in the Cean coast line has more rough and touches the Enaminic ocean.

The central and southern most parts of the country are covered by the North lorbic low lands and are part of the great west andolian planes. In the south eastern part of the nation a small parts of the Kazum mountain's can be seen and they host the highest peak in the entire country, on the top of mount Lazem.

Biodiversity Baydor is host to a great range of biodiversity with successive government's maintaining a police of conservation and maintianing Baydor innate natural beauty. Baydor has the highest population of the rare Andolian Bison as well as other wild species like the grey wolf, lynx, brown bear, red fox, badger, wild boar, moose, red deer, roe deer, beaver, otter, grey seal, and ringed seal. Game animals such as red deer, roe deer and wild boar are found in most woodlands. Eastern Poland abounds in ancient woods, like the lowieza Forest, that have not been disturbed by human or industrial activity. There are also large forested areas in the mountains, Greater Baydor, nordania, lorbica Land and Lower axondor .

Politics'

Baydor is a constitutional monarchy with the monarch as the official head of state who holds mostly only ceremonial powers while most the power is held in the hand of the prime minister. The prime minister is voted every 4 years using a proportional retentive system. The current prime minister, Jacob Hutsman won with a 53.2% majority in the 2021 election running for the NWP party.

Laws are made by the parliament and are then sent to the house of lords to be passed who then sends it to the king to approve of the new law. The Prime minister is able to propose laws to be voted on in parliament as well as the house of lord who proposes laws to the parliament thought the viceroy of the house (who is elected by the lords). There are currently 826 seats in parliament and 212 seats in the house of lords.

Notable People

King Leopold 2nd is (1887-1956) was a vocal critic of the Duchy of Baydor's relation with Dolfikland and of the ethnical Dolfik part's of the nobility. King Leopold would be corrinated King in 1933 and became prime minister for life in the same year.

Military

Baydor has 73,000 active army personnel and 30,000 reserve personnel. 750,000 conscripts. Due to Baydors fertile land 12.7% of the work force is employed in agriculture. Around 58.4% of all export's go to Dolfikland, and many Dolfik companies have set up in Baydor due to it more lower taxes and more pro business stance than Dolfikland.

Baydor population as of 2020 was 43,000,000 making it the most populated state in the lorbic region. It population desity is higher than the international average with 107 people per kilometre squared with 20% of the population living in the 6 largest cites. Unlike most developed nations Baydor's fertility rate is 2.8 thanks to government financial incentive's as well as cultural beliefs taught at schools and churches.
