Entries in this list include, but are not limited to, those in the [[wikipedia:ISO 3166-1|ISO 3166-1]] standard, which includes {{Cl|Countries_on_Kerbin|sovereign states}} and dependent territories. More widely recognised states that claim the same territory; see the notes in the "notes" column for each country for clarification. Dependent territories and constituent countries that are parts of sovereign states are shown in italics. In addition, sovereign states with limited recognition are not assigned a number rank.
