The electricity generation sector in Baydor is largely fossil-fuel–based. Many power plants nationwide use Baydor position as a major exporter of coal to their advantage by continuing to use coal as the primary raw material in the production of their energy. In 2013, Baydor scored 48  in the kerbin Energy Sustainability Index. The three largest Polish coal mining firms (Kurtman's, Indussrian, Wend-stone and CSP) extract around 100 million tonnes of coal annually.

Renewable forms of energy account for a smaller proportion of Baydors full energy generation capacity. However, the national government has set targets for the development of renewable energy sources in Baydor. Increasing the share of energy from renewable sources and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions is to be achieved with the help of biofuels, photovoltaics, construction of wind farms on the land and the Dolfik Sea, hydroelectric stations and nuclear power plant. This is being helped greatly by Dolfik funding and neclear expertise, who with there help have promised to make Baydor power grid fully nuclear by 2030.
