The K.S. Air Force is a military service branch organized within the Serrian Ministry of Aerial, Space, and Cyber Defense (MASCD), one of the three military departments of the Serrian Ministry of Defense. The Air Defense Force through the MASCD is headed by the civilian Minister of Airpower, who reports to the Minister of Defense and is appointed by the Minister-President. The highest-ranking military officer in the Air Force is the Chief of Staff, who exercises supervision over Air Force units and serves as one of the members of the High Council of Defense. As directed by the Defense Minister and Airpower Minister, certain Air Force components are assigned to unified combatant commands. Combatant commanders are delegated operational authority of the forces assigned to them, while the Defense Minister and Chief of Staff retain administrative authority over their members.
Along with conducting all Serrian land and naval-based air operations (including fixed and rotary wing), the Serrian Air Defense Force provides air support for land and naval forces and aids in the recovery of troops in the field. As of 2021, the service operates more than 2,396 military aircraft. It has a $30.8 billion budget and is the third largest service branch, with 128,908 active-duty airmen, 127,235 reserve airmen, and a classified number as individual-ready reserve airmen.
